The Reason for Your Success!
As a stay-at-home mom, I have my own personal reasons for wanting to start my own home based business and working for myself in the comfort of my home. After you have read my story, I’m sure you will find the inspiration to start your own home based business too!
One of the reasons I started my own home based business is because I could not think about putting my children in daycare. I also could not think about having my four children come home to an empty house when they started school. I wanted to be the one to be there for my children because their younger years were so important to me. It was then that I left my job and decided to start my own home based business and I’m glad I did.
The reasons for starting a home based business was so that I could not just stay for my children, but it was also because I knew that I had the perfect skill set, along with the ability and gifts to be a successful home based business owner. It was one of the greatest gifts I have ever given to myself.
When I started out working at home I didn’t have a lot of money, but I quickly realized that a lot of money wasn’t required. In addition to the tools I possessed, I already had a computer, a printer, typing paper and a telephone/fax. After I wrote out a short and simple business plan I launched Magic Fingers Secretarial Services. I offered to type term papers, dissertations and more. I also transcribed reports for a college professor which netted me $5000 in one month.
Quickly becoming bored with typing, I decided that I needed something more fulfilling. Even though I was an excellent, fast and accurate typist, it was not the home based business I had dreamed of. I then traveled all over the map trying to find my niche and I found it in graphic design. I became so engulfed in graphic design that I started making all kinds of designs that I could put on tee shirts, mugs and more. I opened a store at Cafe Press and Zazzle to sell my designs. My business did really well. I am currently in the process of revamping my graphic design business, but in the meantime I am helping other women transform their lives just as I have been able to transform my own life in a few ways and I am loving this awe-inspiring journey.
In addition to these projects, I started a blog, Beauty and the Face, LLC which has recently a full-fledged business of beauty and body butter products. You can check out my flagship product here. I am in the process of adding more butters to my beauty line in hopes of helping women to achieve their beauty skincare goals.
