When I began my life loving, life empowering and life loving journey I really had no idea that I would be presented with never ending opportunities to make money working from the comfort of my home.

It was then that I became a full time entrepreneur.

I now write ebooks that uplift and encourage which for me is highly therapeutic because I always want to make sure that I’m constantly helping to change women’s lives.

REGISTER YOUR DOMAIN NAME

Take your time and think of a really good name for your business.  Think of a name that will speak to your audience and make it easy for your customers to remember.

SIGNUP WITH A REPUTABLE WEB HOST

I use Blue Host because it is easy to use and you can build as many websites as you want without being charged.  You have to pay a monthly fee is minimal and super affordable.

INSTALL BLOGGER or WORDPRESS

Installing Blogger or WordPress to build your website is totally up to you.  Personally, I like them both.  Blogger is really user-friendly, but it limits you when it comes to their themes and other things that help drive traffic to your site.  If you decide to use Blogger to start a blog or build your website for business, you can always use free blogger backgrounds to help give it the look and feel you want and to make your site pop.

WordPress is another great platform for building your website, but honestly, it can be somewhat complicated to use.  I started using WordPress a few years ago and found it beyond complicated. I went over to Webs and then I decided to try Weebly, two great web building platforms, but I kept going back to WordPress because I liked their themes along with all the great features that they provide for building great and unique websites.  After trial and error I was finally able to master WordPress and I love it. I use WordPress for all my websites.  I also use Blogger and Weebly because of their ease of use.  I also discovered that  WordPress was easier to use than I realized and it is now my go to website platform and I highly recommend it. If you’re computer and tech savvy, then perhaps you may find that WordPress is perfect for building your brand and business.  WordPress has a ton of great plugins and other features that makes this sweetheart stand out from all the rest.

WHAT KIND OF WEBSITE DO YOU NEED?

The answer to this question will depend on your business.  If you are going to be selling merchandise such as jewelry or clothing then you may want to create an commerce website or perhaps you need a membership site.  I suggest that you do your research to ensure that you create the right site as you work to build your business and your brand.

It’s 8:54 a.m. Saturday morning and it’s gorgeous outside.  The sun is out and shining ever-so-brightly warming earth’s body.  My garden is sound asleep.  She is just resting awaiting the arrival of Spring.  So I will let her sleep because when she awakens to the voice of Spring she will be up and about ready to sing!  We still have a little snow here in West Chester, Pa and I’m loving it.  I love the cold and snow.  I appreciate it more and more every year.  I also love Christmas.  I just enjoy watching QVC and seeing all the beautiful decorations they offer to help home owners beautify their homes during the Fall and Christmas seasons.  This is where a lot of my inspiration comes from; the change of the seasons!  

During the week, year round, I am working my businesses and loving all that I do.  I love implementing unique new ideas that make a profound impact on my businesses.  I also love using my gifts to create new designs and to write new masterpieces.  I write to bless others and it is through my writing and designing that this takes place.  I love helping to position others to step out on faith and experience new things and take on some great projects that have the amazing ability to change their own lives.

When I started Magic Fingers Typing Service I was capable of typing 80 wpm.  The reason I am telling you this is because being able to type at this speed accurately, I was able to turn out documents quickly which meant more customers and you know the rest of the story.  I also knew how to create tables, design flyers and brochures and I also knew how to make documents really stand out, but only where that was needed.  Most documents are really easy to type and don’t require a lot.  When it came to designing flyers I found out that I had a gift for designing.  I began making coloring pages for children. My light bulb moment came when I wanted to make t-shirts using the creations from my portfolio.  The first t-shirt I ever made and sold was of President Obama back in 2008.  It went over big and I made a small fortune in two days.  From there I started blanketing mugs, tote bags and keychains with my masterpieces.  I am deeply and highly passionate about designing. Typing and transcribing were my first loves and I guess that’s because I have been typing since I was 14 and I do it well.  I do it accurately.  I will always believe my typing business is the reason I found my passion for design.  

Now, sitting and pondering, think about what you are passionate about.  Do you love to knit or crochet?  Do you have a passion for writing poetry or fictional stories.  Do you love to craft things like gift baskets.  Are you passionate about healthy eating and living?  Are you an exercise guru and would love to help others get in shape and stay in shape in a fun and unique way, like it’s never been done before?  I think you get my point here.  Whatever it is that you are passionate about you can plan, start and grow your business using the very thing that you’re probably already doing in your home right now. Doing whatever it is that you do, does it make you happy.  If you’re a writer and you become so engaged in writing and the words just seem to flow from your heart onto the paper and you’ve been told your writing is touching, warming and changing lives, then maybe this is what you should be doing; writing books.  You can write ebooks or traditional books; whatever your heart desires.  People make a lot of money making ebooks.  If you have a niche then writing ebooks will come naturally to you.  

Now, let’s doing some a little different.  Wherever you are right now in your home and depending on what room you are in, look all around you. If you see pictures hanging on your walls look at them.  Look at the table, the fridge, the tv stand, anything that is in front of you and surrounding you.  What inspiration can you take from the objects in your home to help you start a business.  One day about two years ago I was sitting in my kitchen eating breakfast when a phenomenal business idea came to mind.  I took it and ran with it.  You can do the same, but you have to be still and think as you look around your home. This is just another way to inspire you to help you to begin your work at home journey.

Fall will be arriving soon, ushering in and bringing with it magnificent hues of brilliance and warmth.  I absolutely love this time of year.  It gives me a real true sense of excitement and unspeakable joy you just would not believe.  I am leaping with happiness  at the thought of the cooler weather coming in soon to be accompanied by the most wonderful time of the year; Thanksgiving and Christmas!

As a work at home mother, I am able to see and then appreciate all the blessings bestowed upon me and my family.  I am deeply grateful for the time that I’ve been working at home in comfort in every sense and meaning of the word and as I always say, I would not change my position of being a stay at home mother even if someone offered me a million dollars. In this new season, I have been cleansed.  I am focusing on the new pieces and components of my design business.  You see, I have some of the most magnificent ideas that are all my own.  My ideas are original and unique which is why I know I stand out from the rest. I don’t worry about my competition.  My focus is my target audience and my goal is give my customers what they need, want and expect of me.  That is what makes me happy.  Making my customers happy.  I love to sit at my desk and create the most awesome designs in all creation.  When my sons and I talk basketball and I may ask one of my boys a question about an athlete’s attitude, they will tell me every time, “Mom, they have to think that way because they want to be the best!” And so now, I’ve adopted the attitude that I can do anything I want to do as long as I believe.  This is something that I struggled with far too long, but now, I know that through my faith, I really can achieve the most amazing goals as long as I believe.

Stay at home moms, where are you in your life at this very moment?  Is it a new season in your life and you’re ready to color the world with your brilliant hues?  If so, take that first step and I promise you that your first step will lead you to a world of greatness.  You see, you have within you the amazing ability and great potential to solve people’s problems while being a help to you and your family.  Focus on what it is that you know deep in your heart that you can do to bless someone else and then go from there.  It’s easy.  The first step is easy and then all your others steps will just flow.  Sure, there will be challenges, some obstacles and a few giants you’ll have to knock down and conquer, but you have within you pure awesomeness that was placed in you before you were even thought of.

Information – We all need information in addition to wisdom and knowledge in order to have successful home-based careers. Yes, if we’re going to achieve and enjoy the sweet taste of success information is paramount to the ins and outs of our businesses.
